Hondh Chilla, Gurugram, Jan 30, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Hondh Chillar — a name that still shakes the soul of the Sikh community. A land where, during the 1984 massacre, 32 innocent Sikhs were brutally beaten and murdered. From two-year-old toddlers to elders as old as 70 years — no one was spared.
On this same blood-stained land, on February 3 at 10 a.m., Gurbani recitation and Ardas (prayer) will be held in memory of the martyrs. Even after 42 years, justice has not been delivered. Now, through the voice of Gurbani, an attempt will be made to awaken the conscience of the nation.
Speaking to the media, MLA from Payal constituency and President of the Hondh Chillar Coordination Committee, Engineer Manvinder Singh Gyaspura, said with a heavy heart that Hondh Chillar is the place where a mob smashed a two-year-old innocent child against a wall, where even 70-year-old elders were shown no mercy and were burned alive after being drenched in oil. He said these were not merely murders — this was the murder of humanity itself.
Sharing his pain, Gyaspura said that despite the passage of 42 years, the courts have given nothing but dates. Neither have the culprits been punished, nor have the souls of the martyrs found peace. He stated that the silence of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the bloody hand of Congress, and the double standards of the BJP have all become obstacles on the path to justice.
He announced that during the event, all those locations where brutality crossed every limit will be shown to the public — the wall where the innocent child was killed, and the place where elders were set on fire. By exposing these sites, an effort will be made to shake the conscience of the courts and those sitting in power.
Gyaspura said that Gurbani recitation and Ardas will be performed in the presence of the martyrs to further strengthen the voice for justice. Alongside this, as a mark of protest against those who denied justice, an effigy of the BJP will also be burned.
He said,
“We will ask the question — is this the freedom of India? Where the killers of innocents are still free, and the families of martyrs are still waiting for justice.”
