Rana Gurjeet Singh, Congress MLA from Kapurthala, today issued a appeal to the residents of the city and people across the region, to participate enthusiastically in the 99th Historic Basant Mela.
He informed that this vibrant and colourful cultural event will be celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm on January 29 (Thursday) at the historic Shalimar Bagh.
Highlighting the significance of the event, Rana Gurjeet Singh said that the Basant mela symbolizes Kapurthala’s rich heritage, shared culture, and age-old folk traditions, which have been strengthening the city’s identity across generations.
He emphasized that the 99th Basant Mela is not merely an event, but a vivid reflection of Punjabi culture that further strengths the bonds of brotherhood, prosperity, and unity among the people.
