Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar inks MoU with INFLIBNET for Shodh-Chakra platform, under the dynamic leadership of the worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh.
In a significant step towards enhancing research management and scholarly collaboration, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre, Gandhinagar, to implement the Shodh-Chakra initiative.
The agreement, aimed at streamlining the research lifecycle for scholars, guides/supervisors and institutions, was signed by Prof. K.S. Chahal, Registrar of the University and Prof. Devika Madalli, Director from INFLIBNET Centre.
On the occasion, Prof. Palwinder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Navdeep Singh Sodhi, Coordinator, University Industry Linkage Programme, Prof. Vandana Bhalla, Director Research, Prof. Manpreet Singh Bhatti, Professor-In-Charge, Library and Prof. Jatinder Kaur, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) from GNDU and Dr. Abhishek Kumar, Scientist-E (CS) from INFLIBNET were present.
Vice Chancellor Prof Karamjeet Singh said that Shodh-Chakra, an INFLIBNET-UGC initiative, offers a digital workspace integrated with millions of resources, including full-text theses, to track national research trends and provide tools for efficient academic workflows.
Under the MoU, INFLIBNET will grant access to the platform, integrate updates, ensure data security and conduct training sessions, while GNDU commits to registering users, verifying profiles and promoting participation among its research community.
Prof. Karamjeet Singh highlighted that GNDU always welcome such research oriented initiatives to benefit the research scholars and faculty members and provide all necessary help for the effective implementation of such programs.
Prof. Chahal highlighted the pact’s potential to foster innovation, stating it aligns with GNDU’s mission to advance higher education and research in diverse disciplines. The university, accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC, has nominated Director, IQAC as the nodal officer to oversee implementation, ensuring seamless adoption across its departments.
