The Court of Sh. Ajit Pal Singh, Judge Special Court, Fazilka sentenced accused Gurpreet Singh @ Mangal for 12 years rigorous imprisonment for importing heroin from Pakistan. The accused was arrested at the spot by Border Security Force on 14.04.2021. He was later on handed over to Narcotic Control Bureau.
Alongwith him, two other accused were also nominated but, due to lack of evidence, they have been acquitted. It is pertinent to mention that accused Gurpreet Singh @Mangal was apprehended with about six packets of heroin.
He admitted that such heroin was imported by him from Pakistan before NCB. The Court agreeing to the arguments of Special Counsel for NCB and taking into consideration the evidence on file held the case fully proved against accused Gurpreet Singh @Mangal and jailed him to undergo rigorous imprisonment with fine.
