5 persons deciding fate of 13-cr people in Bihar: Prashant Kishor

Patna, Sep 4, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)
Jan Suraaj campaign chief Prashant Kishor sharply criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday, accusing him of misgovernance and alleging that the fate of 13 crore people in Bihar is being decided by just five individuals within the state government.

“Five individuals, including Nitish Kumar and four retired officials who have no constitutional responsibility or direct accountability to the people, are controlling the destiny of Bihar’s population,” Kishor remarked.

He further accused the Chief Minister of creating an “Officer Raj,” where power is concentrated in the hands of bureaucrats rather than elected representatives.

Nitish Kumar has been facing mounting criticism from various quarters over his administration’s handling of the state’s affairs. Concerns have been raised about the centralization of power and the diminishing role of elected leaders in the decision-making process.

Kishor also pointed out that the concentration of power has led to a situation where public representatives—such as MPs, MLAs, and MLCs—are being sidelined by the administration. He compared the current scenario to the lawlessness of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure, suggesting that while criminals once looted at night, under Nitish Kumar’s rule, officers are now “looting” during the day through unchecked administrative powers.

He claimed that this concentration of authority has fueled corruption across Bihar, with bureaucrats exploiting their positions without facing any accountability.

Prashant Kishor has announced his intention to contest the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections and has been critical of key leaders from various political parties in the state.
