With the help of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) the Commissionerate Police today nabbed 15 people for flouting the norms during curfew and lodged nine FIRs against them.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar during the surveillance by the UAV in congested and hotspot areas of the district 15 persons including Sunil Kumar, Rajat, Sukhwinder Kumar, Kulwinder alias Billa, Hulim Mahito, Surinder Singh, Paramjit Singh, Ramandeep, Davinder Pal, Kulwinder Singh alias Sonu, Ram Chand, Ranjit Singh, Naseeb Chand, Sonu, Avinash Gill and Kulwant were found flouting the curfew norms. He said that subsequently nine FIRs were registered by the Commissionerate Police against these 15 persons who were arrested.
The Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the ultra modern technology was being used for keeping an eagle eye over the hotspots and vulnerable areas of the district.
He said that UAVs have been pressed into service with aim to ensure strict compliance of curfew. Mr. Bhullar reiterated that the curfew has been imposed for the betterment of people so that the spread of Covid 19 could be checked effectively.
Likewise, the Commissioner of Police said that 449 traffic challans were issued on Monday and 21 vehicles were impounded adding that every effort was being made to check the spread of this pandemic.
He said that the security forces have been deployed at the key areas of the city to keep a check over the entire situation adding that the UAVs have been added to augmentthe force for further keeping a strict check. Mr. Bhullar that these UAVs could cover the area of 2 kilometres in all directions and could go up to height of 200 metres.
