Amit Shah to visit Punjab, lay foundation stone of PGI Satellite Centre in Ferozepur

Chandigarh, September 22, 2023 (Yes Punjab News)
Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar on Friday announced that Sh. Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of Rs. 500 Crore Ferozepur PGI Satellite Centre on September 26 during his visit to Punjab. The Union Home Minister would be visiting Amritsar to chair the North Zone Council (NZC) meeting in which top representatives of Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will also participate.

Addressing a press briefing here at the BJP headquarters in presence of BJP Punjab in-charge and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Jakhar also welcomed former Punjab Youth Congress Vice President Akshay Sharma into the party fold and hoped former NSUI Punjab President’s presence in party would further strengthen party’s base amongst youngsters.

Ushering Akshay Sharma into BJP, Jakhar said youngsters like him are face of tomorrow’s politics. Targeting Congress for ditching hard working leaders, Jakhar said the recent Youth Congress Elections organised by INC was a fraud and it was saddening to see the process being reduced to a Cash Cow to extort money from contestants.

Mincing no words, Jakhar cautioned Congress and said it must introspect as to why no one wants to stay in a suffocating party culture the Punjab Congress today has been reduced to.

While thanking Jakhar for his blessings and guidance, Akshay Sharma who has been NSUI Punjab President for longest time said Congress has zero value for hard work and talent. Psycoohancy, nepotism and favouritism are guiding principles of Punjab Congress today, Akshay said.

Responding to media query, Jakhar said it was unfortunate to witness Canada’s foreign policy being dictated by domestic compulsions. He hoped the matter would be resolved at the earliest in an amicable manner.

Reiterating Modi Government’s steadfast commitment to universal peace, Jakhar said terrorism has no nationality, religious and geographical affiliations. There are no shades of grey and there can never be double standards while dealing with terrorism. Canada has been playing with fire by harbouring cessationist who have been sprouting hate against India. No one should be under any illusion as India today is well capable of defending its territorial integrity.

Justifying Centre’s decision to hold VISAS, the Senior leader said he was hopeful that PM Trudeau will soon realise his mistake of making absud allegations. I am sure he has been used as a pawn in the changed geo political churn where the whole world has acknowledged India’s diplomatic power, most significantly in PM’s leadership acumen in wake of Russian-Ukrain war.

We are requesting MEA to set up a helpline for addressing concerns of families who are likely to be impacted by the ongoing situation.
