Youth Akali Dal Organizes Two-Day ‘Dastaran Da Langar’ at Gurdwara Sri Nathana Sahib on Lohri & Maghi

Ghanaur, January 13, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

As per the directions of Shiromani Akali Dal President S. Sukhbir Singh Badal Ji, and as in previous years, a Two-Day “Dastāran Dā Langar” (free turban-tying camp) was organized on the occasion of the Lohri festival and Maghi at Gurdwara Sri Nathana Sahib under the leadership of Youth Akali Dal President S. Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer.

The camp was inaugurated by SGPC Member Jathedar Jasmer Singh Lachhru.

On the first day of the camp, turbans were tied on more than 200 devotees, including children, youth, elderly persons, women, and members of the sangat from all sections of society. Youth and children, in particular, participated in this camp with great enthusiasm and devotion. The sangat widely appreciated this meaningful initiative of the Youth Akali Dal.

Addressing the gathering, Jhinjer said that the dastaar is a symbol of Sikh identity, pride, and self-respect, and through such initiatives, the Youth Akali Dal is connecting the younger generation with its religious and cultural heritage.

Highlighting the historical significance of Gurdwara Sri Nathana Sahib, Jhinjer said that it is a great privilege to perform dastaar seva on this sacred land, which was blessed 22 times by the third Guru, Sri Guru Amar Das Ji. He said that initiatives like “Meri Dastaar, Meri Shaan” are playing a vital role in connecting the younger generation with the Sikh form, Panthic traditions, and their religious identity.

He added that through this camp, the Youth Akali Dal is taking the message of Sikh values to every household.

In conclusion, he said that the Youth Akali Dal remains fully committed to serving the Guru’s house, the Panth, and society, and such initiatives will continue in the future to keep the younger generation away from drugs and social evils and guide them on the path of the Guru.

On this occasion, Lal Singh Madanpur, Avtar Singh Sambhu, Kuldeep Singh Ghanaur, Gurjinder Singh Kabulpur, Master Davinder Singh Tehalpur, Gurjant Singh Mehdudan, Bambi Kuttakhedi, Baljeet Singh Chichi, Bhupinder Singh Gadhapur, Bhupinder Singh Deputy, Surinder Singh Harpalpur, Amrik Singh Harpalpur, Joga Singh Mandoli, Kanwarpal Singh Lohsimbali, Gurpreet Noona, Satnam Singh Alimajra, and the entire teams of Shiromani Akali Dal and Youth Akali Dal of the constituency were present.
