With zero pendency, Jalandhar ranks first in redressing grievances: Ghanshyam Thori

Adding another feather in its cap, Jalandhar has secured first position in the Punjab by redressing grievances expeditiously and recording zero pendency.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the administration had received 4379 grievances on Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) portal till July 4, 2022 of which 4359 were resolved within stipulated timeframe of 15-days.

He said that only one complaint was pending beyond timeline at the portal and was being constantly followed by officials. He said that remaining grievances being shown at the portal were within the timeline. He lauded the grievance cell for ensuring regular follow-up of every grievances registered at the portal.

The Deputy Commissioner said that a dedicated cell was established at the district headquarters to keep close vigil on every grievance and ensure redressal well before timeline. He said that citizens could submit their grievances to the concerned government departments at connect.punjab.gov.in . He said that Punjab government had launched this web portal to address complaints of the citizens in a time-bound manner.

Thori said that the people could also file a complaint directly or visit nearby Sewa Kendras to submit a complaint with the required documents. A facilitation fee of Rs. 10 was charged being by the Sewa Kendra, he added. He also exhorted people to utilize this grievances redressal mechanism to get time-bound solutions to their issues.
