Will raise your concerns before CM and FM: Harbhajan Singh ETO assures PSPCL employees

Punjab Power and Public Works of Punjab Harbhajan Singh ETO on Wednesday held a productive meeting with the PSEB Joint Forum and Bijli Mulazam Ekta Manch to discuss various pressing issues affecting the employees of Power department.

During the meeting, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO made a commitment to the union representatives that he would personally appeal to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema for enhanced compensation for the families of PSPCL employees who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

He also discussed initiatives to reduce fatal accidents and ensure a safer working environment for PSPCL employees.

During the meeting, the Power Minister discussed the demands raised by employee unions regarding departmental promotions, reorganization of posts and the need for renovation of office buildings with the Additional Chief Secretary (Power) Tejveer Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director PSPCL Baldev Singh Saran, Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sursingh and Director Commercial Er. R.S. Saini.

The officials apprised the minister that the departmental promotions are being ensured on time.

The Power Minister attentively heard the union’s concerns regarding salary, regularization of contract workers, provision of cashless medical treatment for individuals injured in electrical accidents, and other issues.

He assured the union representatives that he would take personal initiatives in resolving these issues soon by taking opinions from the Finance Department, Personnel Department, or the Advocate General’s office whenever required.

On this occasion, the Employee Union leaders have welcomed Power Minister ETO’s commitment to the welfare of the employees.
