Will cut tax rates in Punjab, if AAP forms Govt: Saurabh Bhardwaj tells traders, businessmen

Nawanshahr, 30 December, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and national spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj, referring to the reduction in tax rate of many items by the Delhi government in 2015, claimed that if the government’s intention is clear, then reducing the tax rate does not reduce the revenue of the government, rather it proliferates.

He said, “In the 2015-16 budget, the Delhi government reduced the tax rate on 35 items from 12.5% to 5%. Four years later, tax collection in 2019-2020 has more than doubled as compared to 2015. The revenue of the Delhi government in the year 2015-16 was 30 thousand crores. In 2019-20 it increased to 65 thousand crores.

On Thursday, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj met Balachaur (Nawanshahr) and nearby traders and businessmen and listened to their problems to sought suggestions for permanent solution. He said that due to reduction in tax rate, tax evasion will stop, and the government will collect more tax than before. With the increase in revenue, the government will spend more on development works and provide good facilities to the people.

This will also reduce inflation and help businesses and industries to grow. With the growth of businesses and industries, employment will also increase. Bhardwaj promised the businessmen of Punjab that when the AAP government is formed in 2022, the current tax rates will be cut and all the problems of the traders will be seriously considered.

Referring to the problems of the traders, he said, “The main problem for all the traders is the ‘Inspector Raj’. Officers and leaders together loot business here by collecting bribes. In 2015, when the Aam Aadmi Party formed the government in Delhi, the businessmen there used to be troubled by the leaders and officers.

In order to solve the problems of the traders, Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia, while presenting the first budget, announced that after today no inspector and officer will go to any factory, industry and shop in Delhi. After that announcement, many problems of the traders got resolved on their own. Bhardwaj promised that corruption and Inspector Raj will be eliminated as soon as the Aam Aadmi Party government is formed to promote industry and business in Punjab.

Explaining the purpose of the AAP leaders’ meeting with the businessmen and traders of Punjab, Bhardwaj said, “To eradicate unemployment, it is necessary to promote industries and traders.

The more industries grow, the more employment will be provided. With this intention, the Aam Aadmi Party decided to meet the businessmen and traders of Punjab to know their problems and suggestions. In its manifesto for the 2022 election, the Aam Aadmi Party will mention the problems of the traders to detect the solutions.

In Delhi also, AAP did a dialogue program with the traders under the name of ‘Delhi Dialogue’, which benefited the shopkeepers and traders of Delhi a great deal.” He appealed to the people of Punjab to give a chance to the Aam Aadmi Party once for a change and said, “Once you form the AAP government. We will not disappoint you.”
