Incidents of manipulations in Gurbani & Sikh History in recent times are matter of great concern. While giving details in this regard, Mr Inder Mohan Singh, former DSGMC member and expert in Delhi Gurdwara Affairs said that in sequence of these incidents, manipulated Gurbani and Sikh history is produced before public by the former & present Presidents and members of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) from time to time.
Recently, in a function organized by some Hindu religious group, the family member of a Padamshri Awardee former MLA from Delhi declared the Sikh Gurus as Hindus and did not hesitate to declare himself as purified Hindu despite himself being in the attire of Sikh wearing Turban.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that although this gentleman in a video made in a closed room apologized and admitted that he had no proper knowledge of Sikhism, but his message of declaring the entire Sikh Community as Hindus has gone deeply in the minds of lakh of people attending that function which cannot be possible to be taken back by merely releasing a video of apology in a closed room.
He said that every person should duly respect the religion of others but nobody can be given liberty to manipulate the religious history at any cost. Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that it is very surprising that till now neither Sri Akal Takhat Sahib nor the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) or DSGMC has taken pain to initiate any action against these sensitive religious issues.
Mr. Inder Mohan Singh has made an appeal to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh to take immediate cognizance and take appropriate strict action in these serious matters so that no anti-religious elements dares to manipulate the Sikh History in future.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh appreciated the move of a Joint meeting recently organized at Sri Amritsar Sahib for release of Sikh prisoners and said that all the religious organizations should shun their personal agenda and unitedly work to accomplish this task.
