Walkathon led by High Court Judge and Session Judge mark closing ceremony of “Youth Against Drugs” campaign at Mohali

A month long campaign ‘Youth Against Drugs’ was successfully completed by District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, today. Closing ceremony was marked by a walkathon, started from Manav Mangal Smart School, Sector-88, Mohali to District Court Complex, Mohali led by Mr. Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh and District and Sessions Judge, Atul Kasana and Ms Navjot Kaur, Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar.

Divulging the futher details, Surabhi Prashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar said that among other judges who participated, Ms Jagdeep Kaur, Additional Member Secretary, PULSA, judicial officers posted at Sessions Courts Mohali, Panel Lawyers, Para-Legal Volunteers and students of Chandigarh University Gharuan also participated in the walkathon. Mr. Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi distributed the certificates of appreciation to the participants.

Apprising about the campaign, ‘Youth Against Drugs’, she said that the campaign was launched by Punjab State Legal Services Authority led by Mr. Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman.

During the campaign, rallies, workshops and seminars in collaboration with panel Lawyer, Para-Legal Volunteer, Local Administration, Health and Education departments were organized. Competition like declamation, debates, poster making, chart making and Nukkar Natak were also held in various Schools and colleges to create awareness amongst the students as to drug abuse.
