Vision is necessary but Badals don’t even have eyes for Punjab: Bhagwant Mann

Chandigarh, December 30, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann has said that if Badal, Congress, Captain and BJP, who have been in power in Punjab for decades, had any vision for Punjab and Punjabis, today the conditions would not have been so miserable for the people of Punjab.

Mr. Bhagwant Mann was responding to a statement made by Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, President SAD-BJP and former Deputy Chief Minister, in which he (Sukhbir Badal) said that Punjab needed a visionary Chief Minister.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Thursday, Bhagwant Mann said, “Sukhbir Singh Badal is right in saying that the state needs a visionary Chief Minister as, Parkash Singh Badal who had been the Chief Minister five times and Capt. Amarinder Singh who had been the Chief Minister twice, had no vision for Punjab and while they were the Chief Ministers, Punjab was mired in debt of Rs. 3 lakh crores, young people died because of drugs, lakhs of people committed suicide due to financial sufferings, Punjab faced the worst times, Punjab’s water, land and environment were looted.

This remark of Junior Badal has also given the certificates of worthless Chief Ministers to Parkash Singh Badal and Capt. Amarinder Singh and, also warned the Punjabis for the future not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Mr. Bhagwant Mann said that it was clear from the pitiable position where today Punjab is, that the Badal who had been the Chief Minister time and time again had no vision for the future of Punjab and Punjabis. At this age no foresight can be expected from the Badals which would enable Punjab and the Punjabis to come out of the crisis they are facing. The same has been the case with the BJP, Captain and Dhindsa group, all of whom have so far enjoyed power in Punjab and the Centre time and time again.

Reacting to Sukhbir Singh Badal, Mann said, “Of course all of them (Badal, Congress, Captain, BJP and Dhindsa) failed to show Punjab and Punjabis any ray of hope, but they’ve managed to store riches for their families and relatives for their upcoming seven generations.”

About 50 years ago today, when Parkash Singh Badal became the Chief Minister for the first time, neither the Punjab government had any debt nor the Badals had hundreds of buses, seven-star hotels, media channels, thousands of acres of land and property. Today the Punjab Government and the people of Punjab are burdened with billions of rupees of debt, but the fleet of Badal’s buses is increasing day by day. The Badals themselves have no idea what the total value of planes (aviation), hotels, land, foreign assets and bank accounts at home and abroad will be. The same is true of other leaders.

Although Capt. Amarinder Singh is the heir to the royal family of Patiala, before he became the Chief Minister in 2002, there was a rumor in Patiala that the royal family can’t even afford to paint the Moti Mahal. After becoming the Chief Minister twice, Captain’s family has built another palace in Siswan on the same farmhouse as the Badal family, but the debt of the Punjab government exceeded Rs. 3.5 lakh crore. All sections including farmers, laborers, unemployed, elderly, employees are compelled to protest for their rights.

Bhagwant Mann said that people of Punjab have been deceived time and time again and today they have come to realize that they do not need Congress, Captain, BJP and Badal leaders whose visions would never reach beyond their selfish boundaries and the welfare of just their own (families and relatives).
