Vigilance registers case against President of School Management and Head Master for embezzlement in funds

Chandigarh, October 10:

Punjab Vigilance Bureau registered a case against Head Master and President Management Committee of a School for embezzlement of Government funds by misusing his official position.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Head Master Sandeep Kumar Chabra and President Management Committee of National Model Middle School, Patti, Taran Taran district Veena Kumari had opened fake bank accounts on the basis of forged documents in the name of those teachers who had already left the school.

He further said during investigation it has came to light that Sandeep Kumar Chabra was transferring this ill gotten money to his bank account through cheques. The spokesperson added that the investigation officer cum Principal Harbhagwant Singh posted at DIET Verka, Amritsar had conducted inspection of this school and found many irregularities in the drawing and disbursing of salaries to the school staff.

The spokesperson further added that as per the reports obtained from Punjab Education department, Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against the accused Head Master Sandeep Kumar Chabra, President of School Management Committee Veena Kumari including former members and Principal posted in this school during different times besides employees of Central cooperative Bank, Taran Taran.

He informed that a case has been registered at VB police station Amritsar u/s 409, 420,465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC and 13(1)A of PC Act 1988 to probe the allegations of embezzlement of government funds and further investigation was under progress.
