Vigilance nabs PSPCL ALM taking bribe

Chandigarh, January 7, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed an Assistant Lineman (ALM) of PSPCL red handed taking bribe of Rs. 4000/-.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Madho Ram ALM posted at PSPCL office Lalto Kalan, Ludhiana district was nabbed on the complaint of Swaran Singh of village Dolon Kalan.

The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above named lineman was demanding Rs. 6000 to replace the defective electricity transformer and the deal was struck at Rs. 4,000.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the lineman was nabbed on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.4,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that the case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
