Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has arrested a clerk of the Employment Department, Jind red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 23,000. The accused employee was demanding money in lieu of filing a case concerning the payment of unemployment allowance.
While giving information here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that the arrested clerk has been identified as Roshan, 29.
Complainant, a resident of Jind, informed the Vigilance Bureau that while being unemployed, he got an unemployment allowance of 32 months. During this time, he got a job. The accused clerk told him that he had taken unemployment allowance in a fraudulent manner and sought money for filing the case in this regard.
After the complaint, the Vigilance team laid a trap and arrested the accused clerk taking a bribe of Rs 23000.
A case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is underway.
