After the horrific racist attack outside UK Parliament, on one of the turbaned guests of Slough MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, he and his fellow parliamentarians knew that they would have to turn such a negative experience into a positive one.
So, a Turban Awareness Day was organized in UK Parliament where the Sikh MPs tied turbans to their colleagues
Tan Dhesi, has thanked Seema Malhotra and Sikh Channel for their organisation, and all the MPs who very kindly tried on a turban for the second annual Parliamentary Turban Awareness Day.
“We must rise above hatred and educate one another about our heritage, religion and culture,” he said.
