Tript Bajwa flags off PUCA’s Indo-Canadian academic delegation

Higher Education Minister, Punjab, Sh. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa today flagged off a 15 member delegation of Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) to Canada.

The delegation is going under the leadership of Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh & President, PUCA, Dr. Anshu Kataria. The objective of the delegation is to explore the possibilities of strategic tie-ups between various Colleges & Universities of Canada & PUCA member Colleges.

Minister while congratulating the PUCA delegation for its endeavour said that Punjab Government is committed to upgrade the infrastructure, Technology, Course Curriculum, Practical & Skill training in the state to upgrade the standard of Education to meet International standards.

This would also help to maintain the equilibrium between the Indian & International standards of education system thereby generating more & equal job opportunities for the youth of Punjab.

Later on, while interacting with the media Dr. Anshu Kataria said that the delegation would be visiting various Colleges & Universities of Canada including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Kamloops, Victoria, Surrey, Abbotsford, Kelowna etc.

Sh. Krishna Murty, Member, Canada International Education Consortium said that in India especially Punjab, Canadian Colleges & Universities are in big demand. He said that on an average around 1.50 lakh students are going to Canada from Punjab every year for their higher studies.

The average expenditure on Canadian education is around 15 lakh. With the strategic alliance by the Colleges, students can be migrated with credit transfer option wherein they can complete their 2 years in India and 1-2 years in Canada. With such strategic tie-ups, better money-saving decisions can be made which would be beneficial to both students and colleges.
