The selection trials to select the Punjab Women’s and Men’s Hockey teams for participation in the Khelo India Youth Games, starting from June 4 will be held at Amritsar on May 17.
According to Olympian Balwinder Singh Shammi, a member of Hockey Punjab’s Ad Hoc committee, duly appointed by Hockey India, the apex body for Hockey in India, after the suspension of Hockey Punjab., the selection trials for Punjab will be held on May 17, 2022 at 11.00 am at the Astroturf Hockey Ground of Guru Punjab men’s and women’s (under-18 age group) hockey team to participate in the Khelo India Youth Games held at Haryana from June 4 to 13, will be held at Astroturf Hockey Found at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar on May 17 at 11.00 am.
The hockey players born after January 1, 2003 shall be eligible to participate in these trials.
Olympian Shammi further said that the Hockey Punjab’s adhoc committee has appointed Baldev Singh Dronacharya Awardee, Rajbir Kaur Rai, Sukhjit Kaur Sammi, Yogita Bali, Nirmal Singh, Bikramjit Singh Kaka (all international players) and Balwinder Singh Olympian as members of the selection committee.
