Senior Congress leader and Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari had taken up the issue with Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and the project would be implemented by the National Highway Authority of India at a cost of about Rs 700 crore.

The 32 km long road would start from IT junction near Airport Road and meet at Kurali-Chandigarh Road. Work on this project will begin soon.

Tewari said that all round development of Lok Sabha constituency is his priority and with the commencement of Kharar flyover earlier, the long traffic jam has been eased.
