People has got an added layer of security with the inauguration of three new Police Stations by daughters and a senior war veteran in Karnal district. With the setting up of new police stations, the total number of Police Thana in the district has now increased to 16.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that new Police Stations inaugurated are located at Nigadu, Sector 32-33, and Ramnagar in Karnal district.
Nigadu Police Station was inaugurated by former soldier Mr Puran Chand and a daughter of village Habedpur, Ms Neha in the presence of Deputy Superintendent of Police Indri, Mr Randhir Singh. Ex-serviceman Puran Chand had fought Indo-Pak war in 1971.
Sector 32-33 Police Station was inaugurated by Ms Saloni, who had secured first rank in class XII in the district whereas Ramnagar Police Station inaugurated by Deputy Superintendent of Police, City Karnal Mr Baljinder Singh.
Adequate staff and other infrastructure had been provided in all new police stations for effective policing, which were earlier working as police posts. This will instill a sense of security and confidence among the public and also helps in further strengthening the law and order situation, he added.
