BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today squarely held Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for making “crime an industry”in the state.
While strongly condemning the murder of an Akali leader in the state, Chugh said Punjab has become a state of extortions, gangsters and abductors.
“there was an atmosphere of fear and terror in the state while the unlawful elements were having a fun play”, he said. while asserting that the chief minister must take reformative steps.
He said crime and criminals never flourished in the state so much ever in the past. More seriously, he said, the police were not being allowed to discharge their duty professionally which is sending a very delirious message across the state.
Chugh said in the state prisons the criminals had been having a fun time and there was no police action on them.
He demanded the chief minister to hold an all-party meeting to find a solution to the problem in the interest of the border state.
