The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology (GZSCCET), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, organized a vibrant fresher’s party titled “Taruf-e-ECE” to welcome newly admitted students with enthusiasm and joy.
The event witnessed colorful cultural performances, fun-filled competitions, and the announcement of title winners. Preeti Sharma was crowned Miss Fresher, Derik won the title of Mr. Fresher, Jasveer was adjudged Mr. Handsome, and Aradhya was titled Miss Gorgeous. Their lively performances and confidence added charm to the celebration.
Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, MRSPTU, appreciated the department’s efforts, highlighting that such events play a key role in developing students’ confidence, creativity, and communication skills. He encouraged students to actively participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities for their overall growth.
Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, Registrar, MRSPTU, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour and distributed prizes to the winners of various events. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjiv Kumar Aggarwal, Campus Director, GZSCCET, extended his best wishes to the newcomers and congratulated the ECE Department for successfully organizing the function.
Earlier, Dr. Neeraj Gill, Head, Department of ECE, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty, and students, appreciating the collective enthusiasm of the ECE fraternity.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sukhjinder Singh, Assistant Professor, ECE, who acknowledged the sincere efforts of students, coordinators, and faculty members in making the event a success.
The cultural segment featured impressive performances including solo dances by Preeti Sharma, Rimplejeet Kaur, Manjot Kaur, Aradhya Sharma, Simranjeet Kaur, and Vani; duet dances by Rajwinder & Ishpreet, Sukhjeet & Amandeep, and Jasika & Ramandeep; and a group dance by Aradhya, Derik, and Kamlesh that received thunderous applause. Avneet captivated the audience with a soulful solo song, while Sandeep and Raman coordinated the games segment.
The lively program was anchored by Shivam, Ashutosh, Dev, and Jasika, whose engaging compering kept the audience entertained. The overall coordination was led by Lavish and team under the guidance of the faculty coordinators and with the support of senior faculty and staff members.
The event concluded with music, cheer, and a spirit of unity, marking a memorable beginning for the new batch of ECE students at MRSPTU, Bathinda.
