Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi attends first NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session in Bratislava

Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, UK MP from Slouth who was recently elected by his fellow Labour Party MPs to represent them on the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) Parliamentary Assembly is now attending the first Assembly Spring Session in Bratislava, Slovakia with Kevan Jones MP, Mary Creagh MP and other colleagues.

Dhesi, who created history by becoming first Sikh turbaned MP in the UK became the first ever BAME (Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic) elected to become a member of the UK delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

He joined other members in Bratislava (capital of Slovakia) for the Parliamentary Assembly’s Spring Session.

Members from the USA, Canada, Turkey and across Europe has gathered for the four day session. The Assembly meets twice a year for full sessions and smaller specific committee meetings looking into the defence, security and other important issues related to the NATO alliance.

Dhesi Tweeted and wrote on his FB wall, “Been in meetings since 8am discussing defence, economics and security issues + the impact of recent #EuropeanElections on #NATO.
#NATOPABratislava”
