Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) has appointed former President of Shiromani Akali Dal and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Late Jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi’s eldest son and former MLA, Jathedar Ranjit Singh Talwandi from Khanna as party’s Secretary General giving him a pivotal responsibility.
While addressing a press conference here today, Patron Jathedar Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and Party President, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa formally appointed former MLA, Jathedar Ranjit Singh Talwandi as the new Secretary General of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Patron Jathedar Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and Party President, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa highlighted the significance of the Talwandi family and said that Sh. Ranjit Singh Talwandi, son of Jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi, known as the Iron Man in Sikh Panth and politics, would very wisely take the working Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) forward.
Speaking on the occasion Jathedar Ranjit Singh Brahmpura said that Shiromani Akali (Sanyukt) is now the most important political party of the Sikh community as its political circle is getting wider day by day.Dhindsa and Brahmpura also openly invited other Taksali Akali families to join the Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) to give a revolutionary shape to Sikh politics in the future and create a positive environment in Punjab.
On this occasion, Jathedar Ranjit Singh Talwandi pledged to fulfill this responsibility given to him by the party.
Meanwhile, Sh. Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that 100 years old organization of martyrs Shiromani Akali Dal has a glorious history.There was a time when the Akali Dal had a majority of leaders who made sacrifices and upheld the principles, but sadly due to the Badal family, Shiromani Akali Dal did not even get a chance to sit in the Opposition, he added.
S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa strongly supported the call of India Bandh announced by the farmers’ organizations on September 27 and said that one day the Aandata (Farmer) of the country would surely win in this struggle.
S.Dhindsa urged the workers to extend full cooperation to the farmers in the Bharat Bandh.
