Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) legislative party leader Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today demanded immediate suspension and strict disciplinary action against Ludhiana police officials for torturing an innocent man which led to his death ten days back.
Raising the issue of torture of Deepak Shukla of Deshmesh Kalan in Sahnewal constituency during zero hour, the SAD legislative party leader said Deepak was tortured on flimsy grounds of being a thief even though he had proved his innocence in front of the public.
He said the State’s refusal to take action against the guilty officials had caused distress amongst common people even as the situation had become tense with Deepak’s family refusing to cremate his body. Mr Dhillon demanded immediate action in the matter.
