President of Hockey Punjab, Nitin Kohli blessed the players participating in the coaching camp organized by Surjit Hockey Society today.
On the 50th day of the coaching camp, inprofress here at local at Surjit Hockey Stadium, the President of Hockey Punjab, Nitin Kohli, inspected the coaching camp, which started on from October 8, while addressing the participants that the coaching under the age groups of 14 and 19 years, described it as a great initiative and it will definitely benefit Punjab and Indian hockey in future.
On this occasion, Mr. Nitin Kohli appreciated the efforts being made by Surjeet Hockey Society President Mr. Ghanshayam Thori, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar and his entire team, especially Secretary of Society Iqbal Singh Sandhu PCS (Retd) and Chief Public Relations Officer Surinder Singh Bapa to promote hockey in Jalandhar.
Mr. Kohli said that apart from the Surjeet Hockey Society, the efforts being made to promote hockey by Jagroop Singh in Jarkhar, Ranjit Singh Rana in Hoshiarpur, Savinder Singh Saini in Ropar are also appreciable. On this occasion, Mr. Kohli announced to provide Tracer brand shoes to around 100 participating players & officials and assured Surjit Hockey Society of all possible help by Hockey Punjab.
He also appealed to parents to send their children to learn hockey in this camp so that a better future can be created for them. Today, Hoshiarpur’s participating player Sukhchain Singh was honored by giving hockey stick by Nitin Kohli.
Iqbal Singh Sandhu, Secretary, Surjit Hockey Society said that this camp was started on 5 October by Surjit Hockey Society with 5 players and today more than 100 players are attending this camp. These players are being coached by Olympians Rajinder Singh, Davinder Singh, Avtar Singh Pinka and Yadvinder Singh Johny coaches.
In addition to fruits, soaked almonds are being given as a daily diet to all participating players. According to Mr. Sandhu, no fee is being charged to attend this camp and the training is absolutely free.
