Sukhjinder Randhawa hands over Rs.25 lakh to family of Milkfed employee who died of COVID

Punjab Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Monday handed over a cheque of Rs 25 lakh to the family of Milkfed’s employee Harjinder Singh who had contracted the virus on duty and succumbed on September 13.

Harjinder Singh was Milk Procurement Assistant in Jalandhar’ Verka Milk Plant. The Minister gave the cheque to Singh’s wife Surinder Kaur.

Minister said Harjinder Singh had performed his duties fearlessly, with dedication and hard work in the pandemic. He said he died while serving the people and his department is proud of him.

He said Milkfed had ensured uninterrupted supply of milk to the people during curfew and lockdown imposed due to Covid-19 pandemic.

He said the employees of Milkfed remained forefront during the pandemic and tirelessly worked round the clock to serve the people. He told the Milkfed had also increased the production of the milk supply during the time of curfew.

Milkfed Managing Director Kamaldeep Singh Sangha also remembered Harjinder Singh’s valour and hard work towards the duty.

On the occasion, in Jalandhar’ Verka Milk Plant Asit Sharma was also present.
