Ridiculing the statement given by Sukhbir Singh Badal that Government should stay away from the functions related to 550th Prakash Purb and opening function of Kartarpur Corridor, the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that it was narrow mindedness of SAD President, who considers himself above than Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Reminding Sukhbir, the Minister said that the joint committee of Government and representatives of SGPC was constituted on the directives of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to jointly organize the functions related to 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He said that the entire Sikh community and the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh intended to hold these functions jointly. Channi further pointed out that Sukhbir Badal himself not in favour of commemorate the Prakash Purb functions together.
He said that the statement of SAD President to asking Government to keep a distance from these functions prove that he was disobeying the directives of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and considering himself superior to the Jathedar of Takht Sahib.
Channi urges Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib to act against Sukhbir Badal for his such statements challenging the directives of Takht Sahib.
Condemning the Sukhbir’s statement regarding Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, Channi said that this issue was being sorted out at the level of Governments.
He said that Punjab Government under Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was playing a key role in opening of this Corridor so this function should be organised at the Government level.
