Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today termed the Jails minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa as ‘the Godfather of all gangsters’ and blamed the Congress government for encouraging ‘gangster culture’ in the state as its ministers and legislators have been openly patronizing notorious gangsters and using them to kill their political rivals.

After attending the bhog ceremony of slain SAD leader Baba Gurdeep Singh at village Vadala, while addressing a large gathering SAD president said that Baba Gurdeep Singh’s murder is a political murder. Giving a ten-day deadline to the government for arresting the killers, he said if killers are not held in the next ten days, SAD would gherao the SSP office to seek justice for the victim’s family.

Blaming the Congress party for using gangsters to settle scores with its political rivals, the SAD president said that the congress was using notorious gangsters in carrying out broad daylight murderous attacks on the SAD workers. “There is no law and order in the state. Chief Minister does not seem interested in holding any meeting with state DGP to discuss rising crimes in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, former minister S. Bikram Singh Majithia said that despite a written complaint given to State DGP about the looming danger on Baba Gurdeep Singh‘s life, no action was taken. He announced that he will keep fighting to get justice in this case till a last drop of blood flows in his body.

Earlier, SAD president, S Majithia, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema paid their homage to the slain leader.
