Sukhbir Badal should stop shedding crocodile tears over ‘Mafia Raj’ in Punjab: Harpal Cheema

Moga / Chandigarh, December 24, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has flayed the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president and Lok Sabha MP, Sukhbir Singh Badal, for staging sham ‘dharnas’ in the state against sand mafia, liquor mafia and others, accusing him of shedding crocodile tears to play his political cards to win peoples’ sympathy.

The Aam Aadmi Party has mounted a relentless ‘Pol Khol Halla Bol’ campaign against the move to expose the Badals’ double face to the people of the state.

The situation became interestingly amusing at Moga on Tuesday when, ahead of the proposed protest ‘dharna’ by the SAD-BJP leaders, led by Sukhbir Singh Badal, in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office in Moga, AAP leaders, led by Leader of Opposition,  Harpal Singh Cheema, convened a press conference and exposed the 10-year-long ‘misrule’ of the SAD-BJP alliance partners.

Others who were present on the occasion were AAP MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan, party spokesperson and Moga area president, Navdeep Singh Sangha, Piyara Singh, Sukhdeep Dhami, Manpreet Rinku, Aman Rakha, Surjit Singh, Sanjeev Kochhar, Usha Rani and Kuldip Kaur.

Accusing the Badals for bringing the cult of mafia raj into the state, Cheema said that the mafia raaj flourished during the 10-year rule of the BJP-SAD alliance government, alleging that Sukhbir Singh Badal was the  lord of the mafia.

He said that Sukhbir Singh Badal had forfeited his moral right to speak on the issues surrounding sand mafia, alcohol mafia, cable mafia, transport mafia, power mafia, land mafia, market mafia and drug mafia calling the shots in the state.

He added that while Sukhbir Singh Badal was the State Home Minister, a concept of gangsters was introduced into the state, saying that as Captain Amarinder Singh was holding the reigns of the Badals Mafia, the gangsters were ruling the roost sitting behind the jails.

He further added that gangsters were born during the Badal government regime, which had doubled or trebled during the close-to-three year rule of the Congress government in the state.

He said that all kinds of mafia were active in Punjab and the common people’s money was being swindled away by the mafia lords, whereas the youth of Punjab was being shoved into drug addiction, while the farmers in the state were fighting the financial crunch and were resorting to committing suicides due to heavy debts on their heads.

He said that Badal and Captain Amarinder Singh were two sides of the same coin and the ‘pseudo’ dharna being staged by Sukhbir Singh Badal was a mere political drama aimed at earning some political brownie points, he signed off.
