Sukhbir Badal condemns brutal lathi charge on peaceful protest of teachers at Patiala

Chandigarh, March 8, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal condemned the brutal lathi charge on teachers at Patiala today which led to injuries to a dozen teachers, including women.

The SAD President said it was shocking that the Congress government had behaved in this fashion with women on International Woman’s Day. He said police personnel attacked women teachers at the dharna and even pulled them by their hair besides manhandling them. “It is shameful that instead of giving a hearing to the unemployed

ETT-TET teachers and giving them jobs as promised, the Congress government tried to muzzle their voice by using violence against them”.

Mr Sukhbir Badal demanded an inquiry be conducted and action taken against officials who had displayed needless brutality against women teachers who were protesting in a peaceful manner. He assured teachers all legal help to seek justice against the atrocity committed against them.
