Sukhbir and Harsimrat’s absence from Parliament is a betrayal with Punjab and its farmers: Bhagwant Mann

Chandigarh, 14 September, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and MP Bhagwant Mann has said that Sukhbir Singh Badal and Harsimrat Kaur Badal has betrayed Punjab and its entire farming community by being absent from Parliament while anti-agriculture ordinance was introduced by Modi Government.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters and through social media, Bhagwant Mann said that at the time when Modi government introduced the anti-agriculture ordinance in Parliament, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal were absent instead of protesting against it which is undoubtedly a step in favour of the ordinances and against the interests of the farming community.

According to Mann, the act of the Badal duo would be remembered as most treacherous in the history of agriculture and all sections of the country including Punjab and its farmers, laborers, artisans, laborers, transporters etc would never forgive them.

Bhagwant Mann said that he (Mann) vehemently opposed these lethal ordinances and the Hon’ble Speaker had to assure that the Aam Aadmi Party would be given ample opportunity to debate on the ordinances.

Reacting sharply to the revelation made by Union Agriculture Minister Narinder Singh Tomar that he had also got the consent of the Punjab Chief Minister regarding the ordinances, Bhagwant Mann said that the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had tacitly agreed to the ordinances. He misled the farmers, the political parties participating in all party meetings and the sacred house of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Therefore, Raja Amarinder Singh should resign immediately.

Taking a dig at the Badals, Bhagwant Mann said that the BJP did not care about them at all and the saffron party has itself dig a last nail in coffin of SAD by introduction of the ordinance.
