STF Chief ADGP Gurpreet Deo to join drive against drugs started by DC from June 5

The Chief of Special Task Force and the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Ms Gurpreet Kaur Deo will join the anti-drug drive started by deputy commissioner Mr Chander Gaind from June 5.

Ms Deo along with Mr Gaind will visit drug affected villages of the district from June 5 to 7.

The drive will be focused to make collected effort for completely wiping out this curse from the state.

Divulging the details, Mr Gaind said that on June 5, STF Chief will interact with the people in Makhu’s Khadoor Palace and villages falling in the jurisdiction of Zira block from 5 pm to 7 pm. On June 6, ADGP will visit Ferozepur and Ghal Khurd blocks from 10 am to 12 pm and similarly on June 7, she will hold talks with the people in Mamdot and Guru Har Sahai blocks in public meetings from 10 am to 12 pm.

Mr Gaind said that Punjab government has been already making strenuous efforts for eliminating this menace from the state.

However, he said that such efforts could not be fruitful without the active support and cooperation of the general public.

The deputy commissioner said that the time has come when every section of society must contribute towards this noble cause and make war against drug a huge success.
