Chandigarh, August 13, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

In run up to the elections to the students’ bodies of Punjab University and its affiliated colleges in the city, the Students Organization of India (SOI), the student wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD), today announced its organization set up for the Punjab University campus and other leading colleges.

Declaring the names of president and other officer bearers of the SOI units in Chandigarh, the All India president of SOI Parminder Singh nominated Iqbai Preet Singh as the president of the Chandigarh unit and exhorted a gathering of four to five hundred SOI activists to work hard to educate and aware the students’ community about the aims and objectives of the SOI which is making rapid progress every year.

Every year the re-organization of the student outfit is necessitated as one third of students pass out of colleges and university and almost equal number would be admitted to the higher institutions of learning. So the new faces are to be inducted in the SOI, added Brar.

Brar hoped that the SOI would put an impressive show in the upcoming students’ Union polls in the city. However, he said that the SOI is open to alliance with like- minded students’ bodies.
