Sirsa takes up issue of 2 Sikh girls’ conversion in J&K with Shah, HM assures reunion with families

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa today took up issue of abduction of two Sikh girls who were converted to Islam and then married to old Muslim men with Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah.

He disclosed that Amit Shah has assured safe return of two Sikh girls to their families who were allegedly abducted, forcibly converted and married off in Srinagar.

He said that Shah has said that he was already in touch with LG Manoj Sinha on the issue and has already received details about the issue. He has assured us about the safety of minority Sikh girls in the valley and the girls would be soon reunited with their families.

Mr. Sirsa also disclosed that Mr. Shah has given time to meet Sikh delegation from Jammu and Kashmir and this meeting will soon take place.

Meanwhile Mr. Sirsa also led a delegation to DGP Dilbagh Singh and detailed him about the incident. DGP also assured him that he guarantees safety and security of Sikh girls in valley and said that second girl will be reunited with family soon.

Mr. Sirsa has also urged leaders of Political Parties of Jammu and Kashmir to speak up on the issue. He said that speaking of leaders of majority community of state can held resolve the issue fastly.

He also reminded people that in 2014 DSGMC had arranged langar for people during time of floods and they had thanked Sikh community. He said that it is time for them to stand with Sikh community in the present issue. He also thanked those members of majority community who staged dharna on the issue.

He also said that Sikh community had arranged safe return of Kashmiri girls stuck in different parts of country during CAA protests and it is now time for their parents to stand for Sikh girls.
