Sirsa slams GK, Nirpreet Kaur for ‘irresponsible’ statements on acquittal of 1984 ‘anti Sikh Riot’ accused

New Delhi, May 1, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President, S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa expressed shock on the reactions of Sikh leaders given on the acquittal of accused of 1984 Sikh genocide. Issuing wrong statements, politicking on the issue and getting published photos in newspapers shows their mean mentality.

The DSGMC president said that this case was in the Supreme Court of India and advocates were contesting against the accused. He said that Bibi Nirpreet Kaur, S. Manjit Singh GK and other leaders are holding responsible to the Delhi Gurdwara Management committee in the issue to hide the failure of the AAP Delhi government. These are irresponsible statements.

He said that to contest the 1984 victims case and for their financial needs the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal and the DSGMC are spending money. This money amounting to crores of rupees are being spent through Bibi Nirpreet Kaur herself.

The DSGMC questions Bibi Nirpreet Kaur to point out the weakness of the Gurdwara committee in contesting the case of 1984 victims and extending financial help to them. Gurdwara Committee always gave financial help to victims through Bibi Nirpreet Kaur.

Asking the ex-president of the DSGMC, Manjit Singh GK, Sirsa said if the Gurdwara committee was negligent in the case so how he could escape from this responsibility. He said I have been on this responsibility just for a few months.

The DSGMC president said that people who are issuing statements for getting political publicity are forgetting that it was Delhi Committee that was pursuing the case when 88 accused were punished by a lower court and 70 by High Court.

Sirsa said that Bibi Nirpreet is aware of our efforts. “I am upset to whom she is giving benefit with her comment against the DSGMC”, Sirsa said. He asked the Sikh leaders that this is not the time for mud-slinging on the DSGMC. This is the time to tackle the issue sincerely. Sirsa said that legal experts are filing review petition after going through the Supreme Court order. Sirsa further advised the Sikh leaders that they should not do politics on this serious issue. They should jointly make efforts to get punished the accused.
