BJP Sikh leader Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Mr. Harmeet Singh Kalka led delegation today met Union Minster of state for Prime Minister Officer Mr. Jitendra Singh regarding development of Mehrauli place of Baba Banda Singh Badal as National Monument.
Mr. Sirsa and Mr. Kalka apprised the Union Minister about rich history and valour of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and urged him to chalk out programme to commemorate Shaheedi Samark of Baba Banda Bahadur ji at Mehrauli.
Delegation urged that it should be developed as National Monument so that new general should be enlightened about this great General who took revenge of martyrdom of Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind ji and he subdued and gave a crushing defeat to Wazir Khan of Sirhind. He was also a great reformer and Administrator, who abolished Zamindari system and made the tillers of the lands as their masters. They also said that teaching about all his achievements and about his life to students will enlighten them and will instill more leadership qualities in them.
Minister Jitendra Singh assured the delegation that GOI of India was committed to observe programme on grand scale to commemorate his Shaheedi samarak. He said that soon we will finalize this programme in consultations with DSGMC.
