Amritsar, November 11, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will organise a COVID-19 testing camp on November 14 and 15 for the pilgrims going to visit Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Sri Nankana Sahib, Pakistan on the occasion of birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The camp will be organised at Teja Singh Samundri Hall, the SGPC headquarters at Sri Amritsar in collaboration with the Health Department.

This year the jatha (group) of Sikh pilgrims will depart for Pakistan on the occasion of Prakash Gurpurb (birth anniversary) on November 17 and will return home on November 26.

SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur in a press statement issued from the SGPC office said that the birth anniversary of the first Guru is being celebrated on November 19 with devotion and respect in the country and abroad. She said the jatha of Sikh pilgrims will be dispatched by the SGPC on November 17 for the pilgrimage of holy Sikh shrines in Pakistan.

She said that in addition to the COVID-19 vaccination, a 72-hour advance negative report of COVID-19 is mandatory for pilgrims going to Pakistan.

“Accordingly, SGPC has arranged COVID-19 test for the pilgrims. A camp for COVID-19 test would continue from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on November 14 and 15 at the SGPC office in collaboration with the Health Department”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

She said that the pilgrims who have applied for visas to visit the shrines in Pakistan should come to this camp for COVID-19 test. She also said that pilgrims who want to undergo COVID-19 test at their own level should bring a report issued 72 hours before their departure for Pakistan on November 17.
