Mohammad Mustafa, a former DGP and Principal Chief Advisor of PPCC President Navjot Singh Sidhu Saturday launched a scathing attack on Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
Mustafa, who had been a staunch Amarinder loyalist and who is the husband of Punjab Cabinet Minister Razia Sultana, today took to Twitter and expressed his views on the CLP meeting to be held in Punjab Congress Bhawan Saturday.
Mustafa, who claimed seniority and was in the race to become DGP had to retire before becoming one after Amarinder chose to pick Dinkar Gupta for the coveted post after the superannuation of Suresh Arora. Mustafa fought a ‘pitched legal battle’ against Gupta and the government and a case is still pending in the Apex Court.
Taking to Twitter, Mustafa said, In 2017, Punjab gave Congress 80 MLAs but sadly and paradoxically Congressmen didn’t get a Congress Chief Minister as yet. Time to have one after a long agonizing wait of four and a half years with an opportunity to choose one and re-elect Congress again to have party CM with pain of Punjab and Punjabis at heart for 5 years.”
In another Tweet the former DGP said, “Liberate Congress moment for 79 of 80 legislators to redeem the party and its honour”. He also thanked party leadership for the opportunity (read CLP meet).
Mustafa, in a way, has not only hinted about but spelled out the agenda of the meeting fixed by AICC scheduled to be held at Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh at 5.00 PM where all party MLAs have been directed to be present.
