Unidentified assailants opened fire on a Shiv Sena leader leaving him seriously injured even as another person present on the spot was killed.
Honey Mahajan, the president of youth wing of Shiv Sena was sitting inside a shop on Dadwan Road, when assailants who came in a Swift Car fired shots at him. Honey Mahajan and Ashok Kumar, who was also injured in the shootout, were rushed to Civil Hospital where Ashok Kumar was declared brought dead.
Doctors attending on Honey Mahajan referred him to Amritsar for better treatment.
