Amritsar Soormas will take on Mohali Kings in the opening match of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League 2026 at the I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali on August 30, with Punjab’s established and emerging cricketing talent set to feature in the two-week tournament.
Organised by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), the league will run from August 30 to September 13, with six franchises competing for the title.
The teams have been divided into two groups. Group A comprises Mohali Kings, Fazilka Falcons and Jalandhar Warriors, while Group B features Bathinda Royals, Amritsar Soormas and Ludhiana Lions.
The tournament will continue on August 31, when Jalandhar Warriors face Fazilka Falcons in the afternoon before Mohali Kings meet Bathinda Royals in the evening. Ludhiana Lions will begin their campaign against Bathinda Royals on September 1.
The league phase will determine the four teams advancing to the semi-finals. The knockout stage will be played on September 12, with both semi-finals scheduled on the same day.
The first semi-final will feature the Group A toppers against the second-placed team from Group B, while the Group B leaders will face the Group A runners-up in the second semi-final.
The two winners will meet in the final on September 13 for the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League trophy.
A total of 27 matches are scheduled, providing a platform for some of Punjab’s leading cricketers as well as promising young players.
The six participating teams are Fazilka Falcons, Amritsar Soormas, Bathinda Royals, Jalandhar Warriors, Ludhiana Lions and Mohali Kings.
The tournament will be telecast live on Sony Sports Ten 5 HD and Sony Sports Ten 5 SD, while live streaming will be available on Sony LIV.
