Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Harpal Singh Cheema, said here on Wednesday that the controversial statement made by DGP Punjab over the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor and Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s alleged links with radicals, were serious issues and that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would go the whole to bring them to justice, asserting that it would fight to the finish. Cheema told while interacting with the media along other party legislators at the Press Gallery.
Cheema has out-rightly rejected the clean chit given to DGP Dinkar Gupta and tainted Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in the House on Tuesday.
The LoP alleged that the insensate statement made by DGP Dinkar Gupta on the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor alleged made by him at the behest national security advisor Ajit Doval, saying that the appointment of Dinkar Gupta as the state DGP was remote-controlled from by the union government.
He said that both DGP and Capt Amarinder Singh were speaking the language of the BJP and the RSS, which he feared was a potential threat to the unity, integrity and mutual brotherhood in Punjab and the country.
On the issue surrounding Punjab cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Cheema further said that the AAP’s legal wing team would drag Ashu to High Court till the time justice was done in the cases he was alleged involved in.
