SGPC Website now available in new look, Bibi Jagir Kaur inaugurates new site

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has launched a new website to further strengthen its reach in transparent manner to the sangat (congregation) through the information technology.

This website ‘www.sgpcamritsar.org’ has been formally inaugurated on Saturday by the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur at an event at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall.

The website development services are provided free of cost by Sakaar Micro Solutions Private Limited, Jalandhar.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “The new website of the SGPC has been developed keeping in view the modern technology and usage requirements. From this website the sangat would be able to get the information of all the departments of the SGPC. At the same time the services rendered by the SGPC and the expenses incurred will be displayed on the website.”

She said all books related to Sikh history and Gurmat (teachings of Sikh Gurus) ideology published by the SGPC will also be available digitally on the website.

“The website will provide information about the history of the SGPC, current office bearers and members, details of the presidents of the SGPC so far, history of other Gurdwaras including Sri Harmandir Sahib, brief information about Sikh history as well as about the institutions of the SGPC. From time to time the glorious centenary history of the SGPC will be put on this website”, said the SGPC president.

The SGPC president said that authenticated content related to Sikh history will be uploaded after it is checked by the concerned officials.

She said that while the SGPC was already running an online facility for the sangat to book rooms at sarai at Sri Darbar Sahib, it would now be possible to book Sri Akhandpath Sahib on this website as well. Apart from this, the sangats will also be able to use the online method to get the service of raagi jathas in advance booking.

These online facilities will be available at a click for remote and abroad sangat, which will further speed up the service process.

She said that the media activities of the SGPC would also be a part of the new website.

She added that the website would be updated as per the suggestions of the sangat.

Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur honored the website developers Mr Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Mrs Monica Gupta and Mr Meedhansh Gupta for their services.

On this occasion SGPC members Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna, Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhayasi, youth Akali leader S. Yuvraj Bhupinder Singh, Bibi Rajneet Kaur, deputy secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, S. Simarjit Singh Kang, S. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, S. Tejinder Singh Padda, Dr Sukhbir Singh, S. Malkit Singh Baherwal, in-charge internet Bikramjit Singh, content writer S. Jaskaran Singh and others were present.
