Amritsar, August 2, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The recent attempt of a man from Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib to defame the management of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) by going live on social media is highly condemnable and the SGPC will take action against him.

Expressing these words, the SGPC assistant secretary media Kulwinder Singh Ramdas said that a person named Satnam Sandhu has made a false statement against the management of Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib by going live from the Sarai there (inn).

“There is no truth in his allegations that the Gurdwara management demanded money from the people coming from Kisan Andolan (farmers’ protest) for giving them rooms in Gurdwara Sahib”, said Kulwinder Singh Ramdas.

He said that SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur has from the day one supported the farmers’ agitation and issued instructions to make necessary arrangements for the farmers to all Gurdwaras.

“Apart from arranging langar during the Kisan Andolan, the SGPC has also arranged absolutely free accommodation inside its Gurdwaras. SGPC has so far provided aid of nearly Rs 2.70 crore to the families of the farmers who got martyred during the Kisan Andolan”, said Kulwinder Singh Ramdas.

He said that recently a person at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib had made false allegations against the SGPC that rooms were not being provided there to the farmers going on farmers’ agitation. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas said that the allegations of this person are completely false, while according to the records of Gurdwara Sahib, the same person was given seven rooms.

“The register maintained at the Sarai of Gurdwara Sahib contains the record of the rooms allotted to every person. Apart from this, a special register is also being maintained for the farmers going on Kisan Andolan. At the Gurdwara Sahib under the SGPC management, free rooms are provided to the farmers and its record is being maintained in a special register. The accused person was given seven rooms, for which no money has been taken from him. The man deliberately created such unrest to viral the video on social media to defame the Gurdwara management. It is a clumsy move to discredit the management of the SGPC without any reason”, said Kulwinder Singh Ramdas.

He said that according to the information received, several drug-related cases are registered against this person named Satnam Sandhu. He said that strict action is being taken against this person by the SGPC and under this the manager of Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib has lodged a complaint with the police for defaming the management.
