Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will soon use the steam cooking system to prepare langar inside the historic gurdwaras and the support of Rara Sahib samprada is being sought by the SGPC for this purpose.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the interim committee of the SGPC and action has now been taken to implement it.

SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur held a meeting with Baba Baljinder Singh of Rara Sahib.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “Initially the steam cooking method for langar would be used for the langar of Sri Guru Ram Das Ji at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. After this it will be implemented in other gurdwaras as well. The preparation of langar by steam would save fuel. In addition, pollution will be reduced and time will be saved for cooking langar.”
