SGPC honours Hockey India Men’s team member Surender Kumar for winning bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today honoured hockey India men’s team member Surender Kumar Palad for winning the bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics.

SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to Surender in Amritsar.

On August 11, this year, SGPC had awarded the Hockey India team with Rs 1 crore at a special event organised at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib during which cheque of Rs 5 lakh was given to each team player. Surender could not attend the event at that time and was given a cheque of award today.

On this occasion, Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the performance of the Indian hockey team has enhanced the pride of the entire country.

On this occasion, SGPC senior vice-president S. Surjit Singh Bhitewad, some SGPC members, general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, assistant secretary S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, OSD to SGPC President Sukhbir Singh, and others were present.
