Amritsar, July 17, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
A jatha (batch) of Sikh pilgrims will be sent by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in November 2021 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji, the first Sikh Guru at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, Pakistan.

In this regard, the visa process has been started by the SGPC, under which the pilgrims will be able to deposit their passports with the SGPC by August 15, 2021.

Disclosing this here on Saturday, SGPC chief secretary Harjinder Singh said that like every year, the SGPC would send a jatha to Pakistan on the occasion of Guru Nanak Ji’s birth anniversary for which the pilgrims could deposit their passports.

SGPC chief secretary Harjinder Singh said that the devotees who want to visit Gurdwara Janam Asthan Sri Nankana Sahib and other shrines in Pakistan on the historic occasion should deposit their passports along with the recommendations of their constituency’s SGPC members to the Yatra department at the SGPC office in Amritsar.

He informed that it is mandatory for the pilgrims to attach a photocopy of Aadhar card, voter card or ration card along with their passport as proof of identity.

SGPC chief secretary appealed to the Sangat (devotees) to deposit their passports and documents to the SGPC in time so that further proceedings could be completed in time for the visa process.

SGPC chief secretary said that this time on the instructions of the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, the SGPC is also providing services to the pilgrims of Haryana for obtaining visas. Under the Haryana state quota, the pilgrims can deposit their passports to the SGPC’s sub-office at Gurdwara Patshahi Chhevin in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
