Senior Leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt), MLA and former Finance Minister, Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa while taking a dig at the Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi after the seizure of Rs. 10 crores, gold worth Rs 21 lakh and a Rolex watch worth Rs 12 lakh from the premises of a close relative of Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi during Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids, said that the raids have certainly exposed Charanjit Singh Channi who was trying to befool the people of the state by pretending himself as a common man.
Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa alleged that the crores of rupees received from the house of a close relative of Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi had also exposed the ongoing collusion between the Congress government and the sand mafia.
He said that this huge amount of money that is being illegally collected by the Congress party candidates is being spent in the elections and seizure of Rs.10 crore by ED during its recent raid is mere of the trailer as still crores of rupees are being spent illegally by Congress just to gain power at any cost. Not only, but more such money is also expected to be recovered from many other Congress candidates in the coming days.
Mr. Dhindsa said that in the case of crores of rupees recovered from the house of a close relative, Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi was questioning the performance of the Central Government and ED while he should clarify to people of the state as to how such a huge amount had reached his relative’s house?
Mr. Dhindsa alleged that Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi had been misleading the people of Punjab by pretending to be a common man and in fact during the last three months as the Chief Minister, he had amassed crores of rupees and all this money was given to his relatives. It is now clear that the Congress party wants to remain in power in this election on the pretext of money, added Mr. Dhindsa.
He said that on one hand at present due to inflation, the common man is finding it hard to earn his livelihood, while on the other crores of rupees are being recovered from the relatives of the Punjab Chief Minister, who is pretending to be a common man.
Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa also asked the Election Commission of India to seriously investigate the matter so that the use of this money could be ascertained.
